With all of the buzz about cell phones causing health damage, it's no wonder that the skin care industry is already working hard to find solutions. Do they really work?
Sometimes it seems as if everything is damaging to your skincare. Now to top it all off, there is evidence coming out that cell phone usage is damaging to your skin. Artificial electromagnetic waves (AEW) is the name of the official culprit that leaps out of your cell phone and other electronic devices and leaves you with accelerated aging.
Is this really something that you should be concerned about? Apparently so. Cell phones have been proven to emit a form of radiation that has led to health problems such as infertility and brain injury. While the proof is scant, studies are leaning toward the damage risks being valid. If AEWs can do all of this to your health, of course it may be capable of something as simple as damaging your skin as well.
While the obvious solution to protecting your skincare from AEWs is to talk on your phone less and stop sticking your head in the microwave oven, skin care companies are instead riding on the wave of this widespread health scare, majorly cashing in on the mass paranoia.
One of these companies is Clarins, who has come up with the Expertise 3P skincare. The very first skin care product of its kind, it claims to reduce the amount of AEW that enters through your skin. Is this for real?
Some experts believe that yes, it is. Clarins' "magnetic defense complex" is apparently in high demand, especially since they've even thrown in white tea for good measure. It seems that lately if there is tea or anything else natural in a skincare product, it flies off of the shelves.
Managing director of Clarins, Olivier Courtin has released a statement in regards to reports that the spray "contains molecules derived from micro-organisms living near undersea volcanoes and plants which exist in extreme conditions like those alongside motorways or which grow in Siberia."
He says, “This new product is contested so we have decided to publish the results of our experiments … in a world-renowned scientific journal…articles in some newspapers and on some Web sites have not been very positive."
Can you really blame the public? Clarins' claims really do tend to seem a little unbelievable. However, until these "studies" have either been debunked or validated, there are some more reliable skincare products that you can use to protect your skin from its harsh environment.
Murad Night Reform Treatment has been clinically proven to improve the look and firmness of your skin. After enduring pollution and weather all day long, it is a great nighttime thank you to your skin for another day well lived.
Their City Detox Treatment is also the perfect way to purify your skin from environmental threats at the end of each day.
