Work started a major cosmetic project at the Sunset Mall

Work has begun on a major cosmetic project at the Sunset Mall to give the 27-year-old retail center a more southwestern look. New flooring, paint, color schemes and lighting will change the look of the mall, which will also get upgraded entrances and other architectural features.

Carroll & Associates of Illinois will do the architectural work, and the general contractor is Young Contracting of Atlanta, Ga. The work, to be completed by summer, will include the installation of new steps, planters and fountains throughout the mall.
